How is your Calm/decaf coffee processed?Updated 2 months ago

We take our decaf seriously, because we want to honor those of you who love coffee and want to drink it for both pleasure and health benefits but prefer to avoid caffeine. 

Purity CALM (99.9% decaffeinated) and BALANCE (1/3 caffeinated, 2/3 decaffeinated) roasts are made from the same highly vetted coffee we use in our other blends, and is sent directly from the farm to the Mountain Water® decaffeination facility in Mexico.

The proprietary Mountain Water® Process (MWP) removes more than 99.9% of caffeine, making it the best decaffeination method in the industry. Unlike solvent-based methods, MWP avoids the use of chemicals that can leave behind toxic residues.

In addition, our roasting partner ensures that all equipment is thoroughly cleared of any leftover regular coffee before roasting Purity CALM or BALANCE. The decaf is then roasted to a level that retains chlorogenic acids (CGA) while balancing sweetness and subdued acidity.

The result is the highest quality decaf coffee on the market: specialty grade, certified organic, Smithsonian Bird Friendly, regeneratively farmed, and Mountain Water® decaffeinated.
